To facilitate the design of projects such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home economics kitchens, and training kitchens, we have developed a range of height-adjustable kitchen worktops with ample space beneath the worktop to enable individuals to work from a seated position.
Below, you will find a few examples of our complete wheelchair-adapted kitchen worktops to assist you in your selection during the design phase.
All of our kitchen worktop lifts feature open space beneath the workspace to enable work from a seated position. The height adjustable mechanism is concealed under the worktop using telescopic cover panels.
Depending on how frequently the height of the kitchen worktop needs to be adjusted, there are three different options for height adjustment.
Motor-driven height-adjustable kitchen worktop:
The most flexible choice is the motor-driven height adjustment. With a simple button press, the height can be adjusted by 300mm. This is the obvious choice if the height needs to be adjusted frequently.
Crank-operated height-adjustable kitchen worktop:
If the height doesn't need to be adjusted as often, the crank-operated kitchen worktop is a good option. There's a crank located at the front that is used for height adjustment. The crank can easily be folded under the worktop when not in use. Thanks to the leverage in the crank system, adjusting the height doesn't feel heavy at all.
Manually adjustable height kitchen worktop:
In cases where adjusting the height is rare, the manual system is a good choice. This could be in situations where the main goal is to provide a knee-free work area but still offer the possibility to adjust the height if in future the requirements of the user change. For example, this might be in a nursing home where a wheelchair user resides initially, and later, a person who walks moves in. Please be aware tolls are required to make the adjustment.
For our modular worktops, we have chosen materials that can withstand use in public environments. The worktops have either a stainless steel worktop or a worktop made of compact laminate. The front is made of powder-coated aluminum.
In cases where you would like the worktop and front to match the rest of the kitchen interior, we can deliver the modules without these parts.
Granberg ESFS is a mini kitchen worktop that can be used as a small pantry in places like nursing homes or assisted living facilities. The worktop is equipped with a seamless stainless steel sink with a single bowl. A hob with 2 cooking zones is integrated and recessed into the stainless steel worktop.

Granberg ES11S2 is another mini kitchen worktop that can be used as a small pantry in places like nursing homes or assisted living facilities. The worktop is equipped with a worktop made of compact laminate and an under-mounted, single bowl sink. A hob with 2 cooking zones is integrated and recessed into the worktop.

Granberg ESHS4 is a height-adjustable kitchen worktop often used in places like home economics classrooms, training kitchens, and other public environments where there is a need for an adjustable kitchen worktop with ample space for cooking. The length is adapted according to requirements, providing substantial work and preparation areas.
The worktop is equipped with a seamless stainless steel sink with two shallow sink bowls. A hob with 4 cooking zones is integrated and recessed into the stainless steel worktop.
